Brian Harbin runs GritBrokerage.com, a domain brokerage that helps clients buy and sell premium domains like Story.com, Ice.com and Detroit.com. In 2020 he founded Grit.org to teach young people grit, resilience and success principles — through Grit University internships, Grit Camp for kids aged 6 to 12, and the Grit.org Podcast.
The goal
Grit.org had a story most founders would envy: a YouTube channel that went from friends and family as its first hundred subscribers to more than a million by June 2025. Brian wanted that journey told properly, in a place people researching Grit.org and his brokerage would find it.
What we did
We shaped the story around how the channel grew 'unintentionally' — a hurricane-season challenge with his son Stone, a 24-hour subscriber push by camp counselors, a two-year plateau, and the breakthrough after an episode with 1980 "Miracle" hockey player Jack O'Callahan. We wrote it, Brian approved it, and we distributed it as a press release through ACCESS Newswire, where it runs on Yahoo Finance.
The result
The piece is live on Yahoo Finance as "How Grit.org 'Unintentionally' Built a YouTube Channel with Over 1 Million Subscribers," dated November 13, 2025 — a searchable, permanent account of the Grit.org story under a name everyone recognises.
