The client

Beverly D. Flaxington started in financial services and built a business around helping people communicate and grow. She is a certified hypnotherapist, Hypnosis Trainer, Behavioral Analyst and Values Analyst; has taught Leadership and Teaming to graduate students at Suffolk University since 2008 (Adjunct Professor of the Year, and she has never missed a class); has written eight books and is a three-time Amazon bestselling author; and has rescued more than a thousand animals.

The goal

With that many roles, Beverly's challenge was coherence: anyone looking her up found pieces, not the person. The aim was one feature that connected her business, teaching, writing and rescue work into a single, credible story.

What we did

We found the thread that ties it all together — people, and looking beneath what's on the surface — and built the feature around it: the colleague whose sign read "The Doctor is In", adopters who turned out to be her clients, the 60-hour weeks alongside teaching, writing and raising three children. We wrote it to editorial standard, Beverly approved every word, and it runs on MSN.
